J.K. Rowling confirms there's an American Hogwarts, could be part of "Fantastic Beasts"
American "Harry Potter" fans, you might want to find your wands and start practicing those "Expelliarmus" charms.
While talking with fans on Twitter, J.K. Rowling confirmed there's a U.S. based school of wizardry and strongly hinted it might factor into the next film in the "Potter" universe, the Eddie Redmayne-starring "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
Rowling wouldn't confirm the school's name or location during Monday's Twitter Q&A, but did say that it exists:
More (vague) details about the school came out as fans asked about the "Fantastic Beasts" protagonist, Newt Scamander.
"Fantastic Beasts" takes place 70 years before the events of the "Harry Potter" books, following Hogwarts alumnus and magizoologist who ends up in New York City. The film, which has a screenplay penned by Rowling and is the first film in a planned trilogy, will arrive in theaters Nov. 18. 2016.
