Iverson Put On Injured List
Allen Iverson was put on the injured list Tuesday with an inflamed elbow and a broken toe, but he was expected back for the beginning of the playoffs.
The 76ers' leading scorer remained in Philadelphia on Monday night to get treatment on his right elbow while the team traveled to Chicago for Tuesday's regular-season finale.
"He will be back by our next game probably," Sixers spokesman Chris Wallace said.
The team doesn't play again before the playoffs, which open Saturday.
Iverson, who has been nursing his left big toe since mid-March, is second in the league in scoring at 28.4, behind Shaquille O'Neal's 29.7. Iverson led the league last season.
This is the second time Iverson has been on the injured list this year. He missed 10 games from Nov. 24 to Dec. 11 with a broken right thumb.
Since Iverson's rookie season in 1996-97, Philadelphia is 8-13 when he does not play.
Also Tuesday, the team activated center Nazr Mohammed, who had been on the injured list with a lower back strain since April 7. He has played in 28 games this season, averaging 2 points and 1.9 rebounds.
