(CBS) "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" fans can take some comfort in knowing that while Christopher Meloni is leaving the show and Mariska Hargitay is reducing her role, Ice-T will be back for some more detective work.

The rapper-actor, who plays Detective Fin Tutuola, has inked a two-year deal to come back for the show's 13th and 14th seasons, he announced on Twitter.

" EXCLUSIVE: I've just locked in my new SVU deal.. So I'll officially be back for the next 2 years at least. DONE," he tweeted on Friday.

But, he added, "No one else is locked as new members of the show."

Meloni, who has played Detective Elliot Stabler since "SVU" premiered in 1999, announced last month that he would be leaving the show after 12 seasons.

Hargitay is returning to play Detective Olivia Benson, but is reportedly scaling back her commitment the show.
