Huntsman kids' hits on social media helping dad

Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman's three oldest daughters are generating buzz through their use of social media. Their shared Twitter account (@jon2012girls) is filled with satire and somewhat unconventional messages of support for their father's campaign.

They've also released a new YouTube video, featuring a parody of Herman Cain's smoking ad, which has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

But will their strategy help boost their father's standing in the polls?

"We're trying to get out there," Mary Anne Huntsman said. "We're obviously being honest in our tweets. But we want to be light-hearted and funny, but also, you know, help our dad out."

The sisters are becoming known for their honesty, with candid tweets like, "How does Romney know anything about China? He's only been there once and that was for the Olympics. Panda express doesn't count."

They acknowledge that they're comedic, sassy style is generating buzz online.

Abby Huntsman Livingston said, "We're the only ones out there, especially our age, that has the opportunity to see the inside of what's going on in the election. I think a lot of people are curious to see what's going on. And we're very honest in everything we say. And I think people are really attracted to that. So we're having a great time."

Liddy Huntsman added, "(Readers) may find it weird that a politician's child -- we're so honest and blunt. We're supposed to be taken aback and reserved. But we're having fun with it and like people to see what we're saying behind the scenes."

But is too much honesty a concern for their father?

"There's definitely a balance with that," Abby Huntsman Livingston said. "He trusts us, but I think we're all in this for a very serious reason and we know that our country is going through some things that need to be fixed. We strongly believe that our dad is exactly what our country needs to move forward and that's the main reason for doing this. We hope that while we're adding humor, that people are listening to the message that we're sending out there."

Why isn't Huntsman getting more support?

Liddy Huntsman said, "Maybe because he's honest?"

Mary Anne Huntsman added, "The party is so divided right now, more so than it ever has been. So, I think it's been tough for him to get out there. But, you know, if you stop and think about the electability factor and someone who can get to Democrats, Independents and Republicans, (he's the candidate.)"

Abby Huntsman Livingston added that her father is representative of her age group, saying, "He provides a roof for (young) people to come under. We hope to reach out to our group and get people involved because it's so important for the next generation."

When asked if any other candidates have a sense of humor, Liddy Huntsman kidded, "Clearly not."

Abby Huntsman Livingston added, "We try. We play around with them."
