How you can help victims of the Yarnell Hill fire
A wildfire in the small town of Yarnell, Arizona, took the lives of 19 firefighters on Sunday and has destroyed at least 50 homes. The day marked the nation's deadliest for fire crews since Sept. 11, 2001.
CBS affiliate KPHO has compiled a list of organizations that are helping the victims and their families impacted by the tragedy:
- The 100 Club's Survivor Fund
- American Red Cross Grand Canyon Chapter
- Wildland Firefighter Foundation
- Prescott Firefighter's Charities
In addition, the Arizona Diamondbacks are encouraging fans to donate to the charities above and others. Beginning Tuesday, fans will be able to donate at dbacks.com with each donation being matched by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation up to $100,000. The team will also hold a raffle and online auction to benefit the families of the tragedy.
