Hot Shades

Everyone is always looking for fabulous sunglasses, but not all frames match every face.

Mimi Shin, the accessories director at Harper's Bazaar magazine, shows The Early Show the hottest styles for eyewear for numerous types of looks.

The biggest trend in sunglasses came to us almost 20 years ago, courtesy of Tom Cruise in "Top Gun." The aviator style is big right now because retro sunglasses are coming back.

The retro '70s look is really popular right now. Gucci showed it first about a year ago with a cleaner, non-flashy look. It's a kind of uniform look with clean lines.

The aviators are seen in all different types of shapes. The classics are something always seen and now anything that is really popular in fashion is just a new take on something classic.

Metal Aviators: Ray-Ban, YSL, Dior
Metal aviators are the classic aviator glasses that Ray-Ban is really known for. But you also see them from big brands and other big rock-and-roll star brands, like YSL and Dior. The designer styles are pushing for that classic style, but also really updating the aviator into a modern shape. The Ray-Ban is the true classic, and the price point is going to be about $100 lower than new fashion designer glasses.

Also, a lot of people really love the high-end designer glasses because you can wear any brand of clothing, even Club Monaco or Gap, but people will know that they're designer. The designer shapes are so identifiable that these will look the most modern.

Plastic Aviators: DKNY, Christian Roth, Gucci
Plastic aviators can give you a trendy look for the summer, and here is where you'll find a better price point. They're a lot more retro, a little younger, more casual, not as sleek, and more fun.

The Christian Roths are probably the most out-there; these are for people who have a lot of confidence. More actors or singers will wear these than your average consumer.

The Gucci sunglasses are for someone who loves fashion. They're a little more clean and modern. The Gucci glasses are a little more streamlined.

The DKNY frames are a great price point option, and not so in-your-face or trend driven. They look a little more classic but still give you the trend.

Rimless Colored Lenses: Silhouette, BCBG, Via Spiga
The rimless aviator is a new take on the rimless styles seen in recent years. You see the aviator shape repeated in all different materials, including plastic. If you prefer the different metals, you can find this shape or style in different weights, like the ultra feather-weight metals such as titanium.

Classic Oversized: Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Guess

Big classic oversized sunglasses make up a group that always has been popular. The shape just looks great on so many people - they come in round shapes, square shapes - it's not necessarily about the shape but the size. They give the most coverage. They always mean glamour, and they're always dramatic.

They're becoming more and more classic; it's part of the retro group but it's not really retro anymore. It's becoming timeless. These styles are great to find and easy to wear. They're not as trendy-trendy as some of the aviators we're showing, but they're becoming a timeless classic.
