"HIMYM" cast opens up about the final season
During their very first (and last) trip together to Comic-Con, the "How I Met Your Mother" gang met up with ETonline to preview the final season of their CBS hit, and offer hilariously frank observations about the annual media fest.
Although it's only been a few weeks since the five began filming season nine, the cast insists that all of the series' buildup will indeed pay off in the last 22 episodes, set to premiere Monday, Sept. 23.
"I think we need to give [fans] a proper resolution," said Neil Patrick Harris, in reference to the premise of the show. How I Met Your Mother begins every episode as a continuation of Ted's (Josh Radnor) long-winded explanation to his teen-aged children of how he fell in love with their mom, recently revealed to be played by actress Cristin Milioti.
"People that have been watching this show for years, waiting for answers...we need to give them some proper answers so we're working really hard on season nine to make sure that the fans that have stuck with us for all of these years feel like we weren't just playing with them."

Offered Harris' co-star Jason Segel, "Our goal this year is to satiate peoples' burning desire that's been haunting them for nine years."
