Heather Locklear hospitalized after 911 call
(CBS) Heather Locklear was rushed to a Southern California hospital on Thursday afternoon after an emergency call was placed from the "Melrose Place" star's home.
Law enforcement insiders told TMZ that the actress' sister called 911 after Locklear, 50, reportedly took a "dangerous mix of prescription drugs and alcohol."
"Emergency response personnel responded to a medical emergency call at Ms. Locklear's residence," Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Mike Aranda told People. "Once they arrived, it was determined that Ms. Locklear needed to be transported to the hospital for further medical attention."
A hospital rep told TMZ that Locklear is responding well to treatment and that doctors expect her to be released on Friday.
Aranda said he did not know Locklear's condition but deputies are not investigating the incident, according to the Associated Press. The actress was responsive when she arrived at the hospital, reports TMZ. Locklear has been hospitalized several times over the years and in 2009 pleaded no contest to reckless driving after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.
Locklear and actor Jack Wagner announced they were calling off their engagement in November.
