Harvard University Cheating Scandal: Scores of students forced to withdraw from school
(CBS/AP) CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - More than half of the 125 students implicated in an exam-cheating scandal at Harvard University have been forced to withdraw from the college for a period of time.
Of remaining cases, half the students got disciplinary probation. The rest weren't disciplined.
The inquiry into possible cheating on a take-home final exam started last year after a teaching assistant detected problems, including that students may have shared answers.
School officials say the spring course involved included undergraduate students at all class levels. Two basketball players were implicated, and subsequently scratched from the roster.
