Gwen Stefani returning to "The Voice" for season 9
Gwen Stefani is swapping back for another season of "The Voice."
The No Doubt songstress will be seated in one of those spinning red chairs when the singing competition returns for its ninth season this fall.
She's replacing Christina Aguilera, who, Deadline reports, is sitting out this next installment to work on new music but is expected to return for a future season.
Stefani will be joined by returning coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell. Carson Daly is also returning as host.
"With such an astounding group of coaches at the peak of their musical ingenuity and Carson returning as our host, we are thrilled for what season 9 will bring," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming for NBC Entertainment. "The expertise and camaraderie of this panel will provide an immeasurable experience for the artists and must-see entertainment for all who are watching."
"The Voice" wrapped its eighth cycle last month, with Sawyer Fredericks of Team Pharrell being crowned the winner.
