Greg Giraldo In Critical Condition At New Jersey Hospital

NEW YORK (CBS) "Last Comic Standing" judge Greg Giraldo is reportedly  in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital when he collapsed this weekend in a New Jersey hotel room.

The 44-year-old comedian was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., Saturday.

The New York Post is reporting  through a source that the comic accidentally  overdosed on prescription pills.

"It was an accidental overdose, and he is in critical condiction," said the source at the comedian's management company, The Collective.

The funnyman, known for his appearances on Comedy Central roasts and the Howard Stern Show, collapsed in his New Jersey hotel room.

Before becoming a comedian, the Queens native had worked as a lawyer. He was a graduate of Columbia University and attended Harvard Law School.

Despite his success and growing popularity, Giraldo has talked about his continuing struggle with sobriety.
