Going Beyond Print Screen for Screenshots

bnetscreengrab.jpgI take screenshots pretty much everyday, for multiple reasons. Sometimes I want to point out an incomprehensible (to me!) bug to an IT guy, give someone a preview of a website I'm emailing them about, or grab a still of a presentation I'm watching. For most of these things, my Prt Scrn button works just fine. But what if I want to capture the entirety of a website that extends "below the fold" in my monitor?

Fred Wilson, over at AVC, asked that very question, and received a ton of useful information. Among the free programs available that do just that, Mac users seem to prefer Paparazzi, while Windows users like the Firefox extension Screengrab! (Note: the exclamation point is part of the name of the extension, not necessarily a reflection of my personal feelings for Screengrab! That said, it's pretty cool; I took the screenshot on the left with it, for example.)
