(CBS) Actor Frankie Muniz may be "in the middle" of some legal trouble after a fight in Phoenix, Ariz. with his girlfriend Elycia Turnbow allegedly turned violent.

According to a Phoenix police report obtained by TMZ, Elycia Turnbow told police the "Malcolm In The Middle" star put a gun to his head Friday night after an "intense" altercation with Turnbow over "prior relationships."

The report states that Turnbow then had a friend take Muniz to a local hospital, but Muniz left before getting medical treatment because "he was feeling better."

Turnbow claims in the report that the fight continued upon the actor's return, and that Muniz ultimately punched her in the back of the head and threw her against a wall.

Turnbow did show signs of drinking alcohol and had no visible injuries present, according to the police report. Muniz denied punching her, claiming he was actually attacked by Turnbow.

TMZ reports that Muniz's representative issued a statement, which says, "A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping...He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted."

Muniz's gun was reportedly impounded by police; no charges have been filed at this time.
