Girl ages from childhood to old age in four minutes

Danielle from Anthony Cerniello on Vimeo.

(CBS News) Aging is perpetually fascinating, and it's something that most people are trying to avoid at any cost. This mesmerizing video "Danielle" illustrates a girl aging from childhood to old age in four minutes. And yet the changes are so subtle and gradual, that they are hardly perceivable. That sounds hard to believe, but watch the video above created by filmmaker Anthony Cerniello and check out what he has pulled off.

Through a combination of portraits of her youngest cousins through to her oldest relatives and digital wizardry, he has managed to show what Danielle will look like in her golden years. Cerniello seamlessly stitched them together to create what seems like a time-lapse of one person aging, but is in fact an impressive mastery of animated digital photos and digital artistry. It's weird, impressive, amazing and compelling all at once.

On Vimeo, Cerniella explains: "I attempted to create a person in order to emulate the aging process. The idea was that something is happening but you can't see it but you can feel it, like aging itself."

Would you want to know what you are going to look like as an older person? Or would you prefer it to remain a mystery? Do tell in the comments below.
