Gingrich: I will go all the way to Republican convention
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said he plans to go all the way to the Republican National Convention, regardless of what happens on Tuesday, when GOP voters in Florida decide who they want to take on President Obama in November.
"I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination," Gingrich told reporters after a rally here when he was asked about his campaign's plans if he loses to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Tuesday.
"Why don't you ask Gov. Romney what he is going to do if he loses, since he is behind in both national polls" which show Gingrich in the lead, he replied.
Romney is surging in Florida, after losing badly to Gingrich in South Carolina January 21.
Gingrich pledged to continue campaigning "state by state."
