Gilbert Arenas, former NBA star, arrested for possession of fireworks
(CBS) LOS ANGELES - Gilbert Arenas, a three-time NBA All-Star, was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly possessing illegal fireworks in his vehicle, CBS Los Angeles reports.
The 32-year-old Arenas was initially pulled over by police around 4:20 a.m. in Sherman Oaks, Calif. for speeding in a 65 mile per hour zone, according to the station.
The California Highway Patrol said that's when the officer noticed boxes of fireworks in the passenger seat and in the back of Arenas' pickup truck.
Arenas was reportedly arrested and booked for possession of fireworks within city limits. He was released from Van Nuys Jail after posting $100 bail.
In 2010, Arenas was suspended form the Washington Wizards after revealing he had been keeping guns in his locker, the station reports.
He then briefly played for two other NBA teams before going to play pro basketball in China.
