Giant donated pumpkin yields plenty for hungry
One of the nicest things about holidays is that so many people make the time and effort to help others.
And, when one New York City charity received an unusual food donation this month, they knew just what do do.
As contributor Taryn Winter Bill reported on "The Early Show" on Thanksgiving day, City Harvest, a New York City food charity that transports restaurants' leftovers to local food shelters and kitchens, was the proud recipient of a - 1,436-pound pumpkin.
So City Harvest called a number of the city's top chefs and asked them to work their magic on the oversized veggie.
The result looked more like a cooking competition than a charity event - and put a wide variety of mouthwatering pumpkin dishes on the holiday tables of many in need.
