Authorities give update on survivor of deadly car crash
ATHENS, Ga. -- Authorities say a University of Georgia student who survived a crash that killed four of her friends has been moved to an Atlanta rehabilitation center.
Jane Sanders, a spokeswoman for the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Agnes Kim was admitted to the facility's brain injury unit Thursday. No further details on her condition were released.
Four other students -- Kayla Canedo, 19; Brittany Feldman, 20; Christina Semeria, 19; and Halle Scott, 19 -- were passengers in a car driven by Kim and were killed in the crash. It happened April 27 on a highway in Oconee County, a few miles south of the university's main campus in Athens.
Sheriff's officials have said the driver of the other car, Abby Short, was released from a hospital shortly after the crash and is recovering from her injuries at home.
The newspaper reports that Kim's classmates started an online fundraising campaign to help pay for her treatment.
