Gabby Douglas leaving London with celebrity gold
(CBS/AP) LONDON - There's no doubt that Gabby Douglas won the celebrity gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
NBC says the Virginia gymnastics gold medalist, the first African-American to win all-around gold, is the most clicked-upon athlete on its Olympics website. Through Sunday, her profile on the site had more than 18 million page views.

That's far above the second-ranked athlete, swimmer Michael Phelps, whose profile had just over 7 million page views. Phelps went into the games as the U.S. headliner and emerged as the most decorated Olympian ever.
NBC says four of the five most clicked-upon athletes were the women gymnasts. And the Olympics event with the most live streams through NBC was the gold-medal-winning performance of the female gymnasts.
"Gabby has captured people," USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny told The Associated Press. "We are looking to do what we can to grow our sport a little bit with her help into hopefully a new and talented audience."
Suddenly an A-lister, the 16-year-old gymnast is going to hit the late-night TV circuit over the next few weeks and already is in high demand by advertisers, attracted by her high-wattage smile and adorable nickname - "the Flying Squirrel."
Kellogg's was quick to pounce, putting the golden girl on Corn Flakes boxes just hours after the gymnast claimed the all-around title Thursday.
Douglas even stole the show Thursday at the IOC's daily news conference, reportedly drawing indulgent smiles from Sebastian Coe, the London organizing committee chairman who sat beside her.
"Life is going to change for me in a big way," the 4-foot-11 gymnast told a room full of international media. "I heard cameras and camera crews are at the airport waiting for me. And it's going to change in a big way that I'm not going to, you know, be prepared. But I'm so glad to go home and just see my family and my dogs."
