"Frozen" sequel in the works, says Idina Menzel
Don't expect the "Frozen" phenomenon to thaw out anytime soon -- the stars of Disney's animated hit are returning to theaters next year in a new animated short, and now it looks like another movie might be happening too.
Idina Menzel, who voiced Elsa the Snow Queen in the film and performed its can't-get-it-out-of-your-head song "Let It Go," addressed rumors about a "Frozen" sequel and stage play in a new interview.
When asked by Britain's Telegraph what she could say about those potential projects, Menzel replied, "That they're all in the works, ha ha!"
As for whether she's signed on for both, she added, "Ah, yeah sure... Not the stage show -- I don't know what will happen with that -- but the movie hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride," she says.
"Frozen" opened Thanksgiving Weekend 2013 and went on to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time. It also went on to win Oscars for best animated feature and best original song for "Let It Go."
In the meantime, fans can see Anna and Elsa on the big screen again when the animated short "Frozen Fever" hits theaters in 2015, and you can hear Menzel's voice on her new album, "Holiday Wishes."
