(CBS) Fox announced Friday that Kiefer Sutherland is returning to the network in the new series "Touch," created by "Heroes" mastermind Tim Kring.

The show will join Fox's lineup in the spring of 2012.

Sutherland stars as a widowed father who can't connect with his mute 11-year-old son. Eventually Sutherland's character, Martin Bohm, discovers his son can detect patterns through numbers in events that appear unrelated. Danny Glover co-stars as a professor and child expert.

Fox has ordered 13 episodes of the series.
