Taylor, 79, died early Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks.

This afternoon, news helicopters swarmed overhead and camera crews lined up in preparation for Taylor's funeral at Forest Lawn Cemetery, world famous for being the final resting place of Hollywood celebrities.

Glendale police spokesman Tom Lorenz said Forest Lawn Cemetery officials requested police assistance for the 2 p.m. service.

There would be no procession, but some four dozen family members are expected to attend, police were told.

The cemetery is the final resting place for Taylor's good friend Michael Jackson and other stars like Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, W.C. Fields, Red Skelton, Gracie Allen, Walt Disney and Nat King Cole.

This is still developing; return here later for more details.
