Fla. woman arrested, charged in neighbor's death
OAKLAND PARK, Fla. -- Three days after a 64-year-old retired nurse was found brutally attacked inside her South Florida home, police say they arrested her neighbor, reports CBS Miami.
Homicide detectives placed the victim's neighbor, Debra Kincy, 63, in custody Saturday, according to the station. She is accused of killing Charlotte Nicholas, 64, stabbing her multiple times in the head, neck and torso.
After Nicholas' death, Kincy provided the media with details about the crime -- including how she was stabbed, information that police had not made public, according to CBS Miami.
Investigators say that the women had an ongoing feud that may have originated with stolen jewelry. Police say Kincy pawned three of the victim's rings on the day of the murder and was wearing blood-soaked clothes -- the blood later identified as the victim's after it was taken into evidence.
Authorities were reportedly called to Nicholas' home in Oakland Park -- a city about 30 miles northeast of Miami -- last Tuesday night. Kincy allegedly called emergency responders to the home after she said she found her friend lying on the floor.
First responders soon arrived, but the victim died minutes after police and rescue units reached the house, according to CBS Miami.
Kincy is reportedly facing several charges, including murder and dealing in stolen property.
