(CBS/WTSP) TAMPA, Fla. - A man and a woman who had been arguing in their car died in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities say, according to CBS affiliate WTSP

Police say the man hit the woman several times with his fists before shooting her several times.

WTSP that the woman, Jamie Kimble, managed to jump out of the passenger seat of the car just before it struck an office building at 8 p.m. on Monday in Tampa's West shore area, Tampa police say.

A witness told the Tampa Bay Times that the man then got out of the car and shot the woman. WTSP says the shooter, according to police, was Luis Rodriguez.

Police say Rodriguez drove away before returning to the scene. Police found him in the vehicle with a gunshot to the head.

An investigation continues.
