Fisher-Price recalls 34,000 cradles due to safety concerns

Fisher-Price is recalling about 34,000 infant swings after receiving two reports from consumers that the swings can detach and drop to the ground.

No injuries occurred as a result of the falls, but owners of the swings were urged to stop using the product and to contact the company for new assembly instructions.

A peg in the seat of the swing may not fully engage, and the seat could fall unexpectedly, posing an injury risk, according to a notice on the Consumer Safety Commission's website.

The swings were sold nationwide at stores including Target as well as online at Amazon.com and other websites from November 2015 through March 2016 for about $170.

The recall involves three models: Soothing Savanna Cradle 'n Swing, Sweet Surroundings Cradle 'n Swing, and the Sweet Surroundings Butterfly Friends Cradle 'n Swing.

Fisher-Price can be reached at 800-432-5437 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online at service.mattel.com. (Click on Recalls & Safety Alerts for more information.)
