Faxes, Email, Voicemail... Free

Wherever you are, as long as you're near a phone, you can check your email for free. General Magic has rolled out a service it calls myTalk. You call a toll free number, punch in your code andÂ… (sound) You can even record a reply that will be sent back as a voice file. General Magic President Steve Markman says all users have to do is put up with what amount to short commercialsÂ…

"So, literally when you dial in, every 45 seconds or so, you may hear an audio ad and after the audio ad you can process as many emails as you can until the next audio ad is displayed for you."
You can probably use the email address you have already. The address to sign up is mytalk.com. Want to have a free personal number for voicemail and faxes? Check out a service called messageclick.com. Messageclick President Ben Feder says both the faxes and the voicemail are sent to you by email

"Give us your name, your email address, we'll give you a phone number. That phone number is immediately activated for you to receive a voicemail or a fax mail or a fax message directly to your email account and enable you immediately to throw away your fax machine and throw away your fax line."
Using your email, you can retrieve faxes and voicemail without even making a long distance call.
