Fantasia Barrino Denies She Is A "Home Wrecker" In Marriage Breakup
NEW YORK (CBS) Fantasia Barrino says she is not a home wrecker.
The former "American Idol" winner did not deny an alleged relationship with a married man, but in a statement from her manager, the singer-actress said she did not wreck his marriage.
Paula Cook of North Carolina, in a child-custody case filing, has charged that Barrino carried on a year-long affair with her husband, Antwaun Cook.
"Fantasia is certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of the Cook's marriage," said Barrino's manager Brian Dickens to CNN on Monday. "Fantasia will weather this storm with the dignity and grace that she has exemplified throughout a life in which she has repeatedly overcome obstacles and challenges."
Paula Cook charged that Barrino and Cook's huband had a year-long affair and had sometimes "recorded their illicit sexual activity," leadng to speculation about asex-tape scandal.
Paula Cook is seeking custody of her two sons, aged 2 and 6. The Cooks separated in June.
