Family Found Dead In Baltimore Hotel
Four people found dead Monday in a Baltimore hotel were identified by police as family, CBS station WJZ reports.
Officials are calling their deaths the result of a murder-suicide, though they haven't revealed how any of the victims died.
The bodies were identified as William Parente, 59; his wife, Betty Parente, 58; and the couple's two daughters - Stephanie, 19, and Catherine, 11. The family lived in Garden City, NY and were apparently down in Baltimore visiting Stephanie, a sophomore at Loyola College.
"My understanding is that they normally did come here occasionally to visit with her," said Cpl. Mike Hill, a Baltimore County Police spokesperson. "I can only make an assumption at this point that was what they were doing here over the weekend."
Workers discovered the Parentes on the 10th floor of the Sheraton hotel they had been staying in.
"They were suppose to be checking out. That's when they found the bodies," said Hill.
"We know they were together Sunday morning for breakfast. We know some other things later in the day that progressed as far as what time was the last time that their card key was used for that particular room. But at this point I am going to hesitate to go into all that because we are still trying to confirm that and finalize that," said Hill.
An autopsy is expected to be performed Tuesday.
