Faith Evans & Hubby To Rehab

R&B singer Faith Evans and her husband agreed Wednesday to enroll in a rehabilitation program for drug possession charges made against them last month, Fulton County prosecutors said.

If they successfully complete the 13-week program, the charges will be dropped, said Erik Friedly, spokesman for the Fulton County District Attorney's office.

Friedly said the program is "very standard procedure" for nonviolent first offenders in Fulton County.

Evans, 30, and Todd Russaw, a record executive, were charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana and an improper tag violation during a traffic stop in Hapeville, an Atlanta suburb.

The couple briefly appeared in Fulton County Magistrate Richard Hicks' courtroom Wednesday before being ushered out by their lawyers during a recess.

Evans is the widow of the late rapper Christopher Wallace, known as The Notorious B.I.G. Wallace was killed in a drive-by shooting in March 1997. Evans is the mother of Wallace's 7-year-old son, Christopher Jr.

She is best known for hits such as "You Gets No Love" and "Soon As I Get Home."
