Face The Nation 1.06.08
This week on Face The Nation, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is resurging in the polls in New Hampshire, with a slight lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Bob Schieffer talks with McCain about his campaign, about the role of undecided voters in New Hampshire, and about the likelihood of an independent candidate arising for president.
McCain also explains his much-quoted remark in which he stated it was OK for the U.S. to remain in Iraq for another 50 or 100 years.
Next, CBS News correspondents Dean Reynolds (who's covering the Barack Obama campaign) and Jim Axelrod (who's covering Hillary Clinton) join Schieffer to discuss the Democratic contest.
Finally, in the wake of the Iowa caucuses on Tuesday, Schieffer offers a few observations on the unusual, the unique and the downright odd this campaign season.
