Ex-San Francisco high school football star David Henderson dies after May shooting
(CBS/AP) SAN FRANCISCO - A former San Francisco high school football star died Monday from injuries he suffered in a shooting last month.
David Henderson, 21, was removed from life support Monday night at San Francisco General Hospital where he was being treated since the shooting.
Henderson, who had played for Abraham Lincoln High School and was playing for the semi-professional Pacifica Islanders, was shot three times around noon on May 26, reports CBS station KPIX. One of the bullets severed his spinal cord paralyzing him from the neck down, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
According to the Pacifica Islanders website, Henderson played running back and defensive back for the team.
Police have not announced any arrests in the shooting and say they have no description of the shooter.
