Evan Peters joins cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past"
He's no stranger to "Horror," but now actor Evan Peters will be facing down mutants.
The "American Horror Story" star has joined the cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past," director Bryan Singer announced via Twitter on Thursday:
Quicksilver is the son of the villain Magneto, who later becomes a member of The Avengers along with his sister, Scarlet Witch.
Singer referenced this in an earlier tweet that no longer appears on his account, which said (per The Hollywood Reporter): "Before [Quicksilver] was an Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid."
We'll have to wait and see if this casting news affects Joss Whedon's plans for his sequel to "The Avengers." According to THR, Whedon recently confirmed that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would be part of "The Avengers 2."
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set to arrive in theaters on July 18, 2014. The cast includes returning "X-Men: First Class" stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, along with familiar faces from the original "X-Men" trilogy like Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ellen Page. Peter Dinklage will also star in "Days of Future Past" in what's been described as a "key role."
Peters will return to "American Horror Story" for this third season, subtitled "Coven," which premieres on FX this fall.
