Emmy Awards 2015: Tracy Morgan makes surprise appearance
Now that's a comeback.
Tracy Morgan made good on Jimmy Kimmel's prediction when he appeared onstage at the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday.
It was the first public appearance for Morgan, who was involved in a car accident in June 2014 that left him with a traumatic brain injury, broken ribs, a broken leg and a broken nose.
The audience cheered as Morgan presented the award for Outstanding Drama Series, which went to "Game of Thrones."
"Last year, Jimmy Kimmel said, we'd see you here next year, Tracy Morgan," he said. "Thanks to my doctors and my beautiful wife, I'm here standing on my own two feet. God bless all you for your love, prayers and positive thoughts for the past 15 months. I'm honored to be here at the Emmys."
Morgan looked healthy and happy as he continued and mentioned the accident that left him in a coma for eight days.
He was even able to crack a joke.
"When I finally regained consciousness, I was ecstatic to learn I wasn't the one who messed up," he said as the audience laughed. "Only recently I've started to feel like myself again."
Morgan is to host "Saturday Night Live" this fall. He said on the "Today" show, "When I'm there, you'll know it. I'll get back to making you laugh. I promise you."
We don't doubt it.
