Emma Watson passes on playing Cinderella
Apparently the glass slipper didn't fit Emma Watson.
The "Harry Potter" star had been in talks to play Cinderella in Walt Disney Pictures' live-action retelling, but now Variety is reporting that she has decided not to do the film.
"Cinderella," which will reportedly begin production this fall in London, is being directed by Kenneth Branagh, and has Cate Blanchett signed on to play the wicked stepmother. There's no word on who will step into the role of Cinderella now.
Produced by Simon Kinberg, the movie was originally written by "The Devil Wears Prada" screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna with rewrites by "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" director Chris Weitz.
It's a possibility that production schedules got in the way, as the 22-year-old British actress has been busy as of late. She can be seen in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming "Noah," Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring" and Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen's "This is the End."
