Emma Roberts, Evan Peters address arrest reports
Actress Emma Roberts and her boyfriend, actor Evan Peters, have released a statement following reports of a domestic dispute that reportedly put Roberts behind bars earlier this month.
Roberts and Peters told Us Weekly in a statement: "It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."
The comments come after TMZ reported on Tuesday that Roberts, 22, who's Eric Roberts' daughter and Julia Roberts' niece, and Peters, 26, got caught up in a fight on July 7, in Montreal, Canada, which ended in a physical altercation, according to the site.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that when police were called to a Roberts' hotel room, they found Peters with a bloodied nose. Roberts was then taken in to custody on a domestic violence charge, but quickly released because Peters did not want to press charges, reports TMZ.
The couple, who stepped out last month at "The Lone Ranger" premiere in Los Angeles, are said to still be together. They'll both appear on the upcoming third season of "American Horror Story," and Roberts will soon be seen on the big screen in "We're the Millers" with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis. She's also attached to "Palo Alto," alongside James Franco and Val Kilmer.
