Elton John to pay tribute to Liberace at Emmys
Elton John will grace the Emmy Awards stage on Sept. 22, stepping out with a special tribute to the late Liberace.
The performance ties in with the HBO Liberace biopic, "Behind the Candelabra, is nominated for 15 Emmy Awards this year. The TV movie's two stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are both scheduled to present at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
This marks John's first Emmy performance. It leads into the Sept. 24 release of his upcoming album, "The Diving Board, his first studio album in seven years.
Other Emmy presenters include Kerry Washington, Diahann Carroll, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Deschanel, Allison Janney and Anna Faris.
"American Horror Story: Asylum" tops this year's nominations, with 17. Close behind is "Game of Thrones" with 16 nods, while "Saturday Night Live" and "Behind the Candelabra" are each in the running for 15 nominations.
Neil Patrick Harris will host the ceremony live from Los Angeles.
