Elizabeth Hurley: Beach Beauty
Elizabeth Hurley is introducing her latest venture, a sensual beachwear collection called Elizabeth Hurley Beach, due to hit select Saks Fifth Avenue stores on Thursday, April 21. And she visits The Early Show to talk about it.
The line, chic and wearable, is focused on fit and practicality. It consists of string bikinis adorned with semi-precious stones such as turquoise, tiger's eye and amethyst, soft feminine tops and lush caftans in silk georgette, as well as terry cloth beach bags and hats.
The collection features an array of opulent colors; some of the pieces are hand embellished in India. An important dimension to the collection is the colorful print, used in some pieces, which is inspired by famous works of artist Gustav Klimt.
Hurley drew her inspirations from wanderlust for exotic destinations, conceived during her childhood in England.
She says, "I've always been obsessed with summer clothes, probably because I grew up in a rainy country where I was brought up never to leave the house without a cardigan and umbrella. I used to dream of glamorous, sunny places like St. Tropez and St. Bart's, and in my dreams, I was wearing clothes remarkably similar to these!"
The collection will be sold exclusively at a dozen Saks Fifth Avenue stores: New York City, Bal Harbor, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Naples, New Orleans, Chicago, Troy, Houston, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills; as well as at elizabethhurley.com. The prices range between $168 and $713.
