Elisabeth Hasselbeck's final episode of "The View"

Wednesday marked Elisabeth Hasselbeck's final day as co-host of ABC's talk show, "The View." It was announced Tuesday, that after 10 years, the controversial co-host was departing for a spot on Fox's morning show, "Fox & Friends," in September.

Hasselbeck, 36, walked out to a standing ovation from the audience, arm-in-arm with Barbara Walters, and individually addressed each of her co-hosts, including Sherri Shepherd who was absent from Wednesday's episode. Hasselbeck had especially kind words for Walters, saying that for the past decade, she had attended the "Barbara Walters' School of Broadcasting," and credited Walters as the reason why she had the confidence to "move forward" in her new role on Fox.

Addressing Walters, Hasselbeck said: "I feel more than prepared at this point, because of all that you've given me, to move forward. I work with the best in the business."

She concluded that, "The past 10 years have been nothing short of extraordinary."

Meanwhile, Walters put replacement speculation to rest, when she made it clear that they were in no rush to permanently replace Hasselbeck, saying that they had plenty of guest hosts to fill her seat at the table and that they were going to "take their time."

However, that does not stop the ongoing reports of potential new hosts, including Jenny McCarthy (rumored to be in serious talks to take over for the also-exiting Joy Behar) and Brooke Shields (another reported replacement for Hasselbeck). Walters will also soon exit the show, announcing in May that she will retire from television in 2014.
