Elf ears: From sci-fi to real-life

(CBS) - A Phoenix, Ariz. woman was so enamored by her favorite sci-fi characters from "Lord of the Rings" and other fantasy films that she went under the knife to look like them.

The procedure is known as "ear pointing" or "elf ear." The end result differs widely based on the patients' preference. Just do a Google image search for "ear pointing" and you'll see what I mean.
