On Ben Carson's complaints about suffering excessive scrutiny:

Mike Huckabee: "I never hit my mother with a hammer and I never stabbed anybody. Never wrote about it either. So there you go. At least I'm out there on the record for that." -- interviewed on MSNBC's "Morning Joe"

Chris Christie: "Is he kidding?" Did he watch what I went through in January of 2014 for months and months of relentless attacks from people in the media and in the Cemocratic party, when it turned out I did absolutely nothing wrong? I haven't gotten a note of apology from anyone. A couple days being asked about something you put in your books -- I have to tell you -- I don't have a lot of sympathy. He should answer the questions forthrightly and directly. If he does, the American people will accept it. If he doesn't, he's got a problem." -- interviewed on CNN's "New Day"

Hillary Clinton: "I'm going to let [Ben Carson] run his campaign, respond however he chooses to, to whatever's going on on his side of the aisle. I'm going to stay focused on what I'm doing and what I stand for, and what I fight for, and make my case to the American people starting with the caucuses and primaries and then hopefully going on in the general election." -- talked with reporters after filing paperwork to be on the New Hampshire primary ballot

The debates:

Mike Huckabee: On being dropped to the undercard for Tuesday's debate: "Look, it's obviously not something I'm excited about it....But look, rules are rules. You agree to play by them, you don't have to like them. I think that there's some real unfortunate pairings that happen. But a lot of the problem is that if we don't get an adequate amount of time in those debates, then it's hard to keep advancing forward." -- interviewed on MSNBC's "Morning Joe"

Jeb Bush: Would I kill baby Hitler? Hell yeah 00:47

Jeb Bush on whether he would kill Baby Hitler

Last month, the New York Times Magazine took a poll of its readers to ask, "If you could go back and kill Hitler as a baby, would you do it?" It's a question that has come up in Jeb Bush's email, Bush told the Huffington Post's Scott Conroy. So, would he do it?

"Hell yeah, I would!" Bush told Conroy. "You gotta step up, man....The problem with going back in history and doing that is, as we know from the series, what was the name of the Michael Fox movies?" (Conroy, off-camera: "Back to the Future?") -- 'Back to the Future' -- It could have a dangerous effect on everything else, but I'd do it -- I mean, Hitler."
