Eddie Cibrian injured on "The Playboy Club" set

(CBS) Ouch.

Actor Eddie Cibrian was injured on the Chicago set of "The Playboy Club" on Tuesday, the same day that NBC canceled the show.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Cibrian sustained a deep gash on his right heel after it caught underneath a 200-pound steel door. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

His wife, singer LeAnn Rimes, tweeted: "My husband is hurt...stitches in his Achilles!"

NBC announced Tuesday that it was canceling the show after it premiered on Sept. 19 to critical reviews and underwhelming ratings, with viewership declining even further in the following weeks.

The Sun-Times reports that the network will continue filming through Oct. 10, in hopes of selling the series to another network.
