Drea De Matteo's apartment destroyed in New York City explosion
Drea De Matteo is among those who lost their homes following a dramatic explosion in New York City's East Village neighborhood on Thursday.
The blast destroyed three buildings and heavily damaged another, leaving 19 people hurt and two currently unaccounted for.
De Matteo, known for roles on "The Sopranos" and "Sons of Anarchy," shared a photo of the damage on Instagram.
" A hole where my NYC home of the last 22 years once stood..." she wrote. "RIP 123 2nd Avenue."
Another snapshot she posted shows firefighters on the scene. "NYC's finest trying to put out the flames to mine n many others apartments," she said, adding that she was "speechless" and sending prayers to "those that are hurt."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with every one of them and their families. Of course, we are praying that no other individuals are injured and there are no fatalities," said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
City officials said private contractors were doing some gas and plumbing work in one of the destroyed buildings.
