"Downton Abbey," "Breaking Bad" up for Producers Guild Awards
The Producers Guild of America announced the TV series and specials, as well as digital series nominated for the 24th annual Producers Guild Awards.
The drama category nominees include "Breaking Bad," "Game of Thrones," "Mad Men," "Downton Abbey" and "Homeland." Previous winner "Boardwalk Empire" didn't make the cut.
Up for outstanding comedy are "30 Rock," "The Big Bang Theory," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Louie" and "Modern Family," which most recently took home the trophy.
The outstanding producer for non-fiction television nominees are "American Masters," "Deadliest Catch," "Inside the Actor's Studio" and "Shark Tank."
In the live entertainment and talk television category are "The Colbert Report," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Real Time with Bill Maher" and "Saturday Night Live."
And the reality TV nominees are "The Amazing Race," "Dancing With the Stars," "Project Runway," "Top Chef" and "The Voice."
Producer/entrepreneur Russell Simmons will receive the Producers Guild's 2013 Visionary Award at the ceremony. The Producers Guild will also give special honors to Bob and Harvey Weinstein, J.J. Abrams and others at the event.
Additional nominations will be announced in early January. Winners will be unveiled on Jan. 26 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
