(CBS/AP) ATLANTA - It's a dispute that happened next to a basketball court that sounds like it's headed for a criminal court.

Police say a former NBA referee attacked Atlanta Hawks Hall of Famer and television analyst Dominique Wilkins after Wednesday night's game in Atlanta, in a dispute over a clothing bill.

According to CBS affiliate WGCL, Wilkins had just finished working Atlanta's victory over Orlando from his customary spot on press row when the incident occurred at Philips Arena. Police say Wilkins, who is also a Hawks vice president, was by Rashan Michel, who claims Wilkins owes him between $15,000 and $17,000 for suits.

Team spokesman Arthur Triche says the fan was "promptly arrested and taken into custody by the Atlanta police department."

Michel, who's 36, was charged with two counts of simple battery and was released early Thursday on $1,000 cash bond.

Wilkins was not injured. Judging from the police booking photo (above), Michel definitely lost the fight.
