Does the new "Fast & Furious" film have a director?
The next "Fast & Furious" film may be close to honing in on a director.
Recent reports suggested that franchise star Vin Diesel might sit in the director's chair for the eighth installment, but a new Facebook post suggests otherwise.
Diesel changed his cover photo late Monday night to a picture of himself with director F. Gary Gray, the director of the hit film, "Straight Outta Compton."
Reports say Universal tapped Gray and started to negotiate a deal.
"Furious 7," released earlier this year, was directed by James Wan ("Insidious," "The Conjuring"). The film had a big box office debut -- one that even surprised of the movie's stars in the wake of franchise star Paul Walker's death.
"We can't believe it," "Furious 7" actor Tyrese Gibson told CBS News this summer. "None of us. We understand that everyone wanted to come out and experience Paul with this beautiful art that he left the world."
