Docs: Suspect in girlfriend's murder says they had suicide pact

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania man accused in his girlfriend's death is now facing charges of first-degree murder -- among others, reports CBS Philly.

27-year-old Anthony Noble allegedly told police that he and 27-year-old Joette Mullen planned to die in "Romeo and Juliet style," according to a criminal complaint obtained by the station. But he reportedly backed out after watching her die.

He is charged with third degree murder, according to CBS Philly.

Officers say they found Mullen dead in a car after a passerby told police she saw the victim in the car.

According to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, the evidence shows Noble purposefully prepared a fatal dose of cocaine and then injected it in Mullen's arm.

The complaint also has a transcript of a conversation between Noble and a friend, according to the station. He allegedly told the friend he injected Mullen so she wouldn't go to hell for committing suicide.
