The Hollywood Reporter writes that Viggo Mortensen is on Snyder's radar to play General Zod, who was played in "Superman II" by Terrence Stamp. Kevin Costner is a "person of interest" for the role of Superman's father, Jonathan Kent.
Lane is an Oscar nominee for "Unfaithful" and has starred in "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "The Cotton Club." The "Superman" screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer and Christopher Nolan. Goyer and Nolan have a long history of collaboration, including the upcoming "The Dark Knight" sequel, "The Dark Knight Rises."
