Days after heart attack, man, 72, chases off knife-wielding suspect threatening mother, children

(CBS) YUBA CITY, Calif. - A 72-year-old Northern California man who was only recently discharged from the hospital after suffering a heart attack stepped in to stop a violent threat against a family, and chase away a knife-wielding suspect, CBS Sacramento reported.

Roy Chand, of Yuba City, says he hadn't been in a fight since high school, but he was ready when he saw a man with a knife threatening a mother and her kids.

"I said, 'You want your trouble? Come on you got it. Pick on me. I'm not a woman and I'm not a kid,'" Chand said.

Chand says in the moment he was feeling fierce.

"I felt like I was 10 feet tall and 200 pounds, like I'm a boxer," he told CBS Sacramento.

The family ran inside the store. The man who allegedly brandished the knife, Onon Donley, ran off, but was eventually arrested.
