"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" debuts first trailer
The first trailer has been released for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," the sequel to 2011's franchise reboot "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."
Andy Serkis is back as the genetically-evolved ape Caesar, while Gary Oldman plays the leader of the human survivors from the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.
Per the film's official description, humans and apes "reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species."
"We've been through hell together," Oldman's character says in the trailer. "We spent four years fighting that virus and then another four fighting each other. It was chaos. But you all know what we’re up against."
He then yells, "I need to speak to Caesar!"
Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Judy Greer and Kodi Smit-McPhee also star in the film, which will be released on July 11, 2014.
