NEW YORK (CBS) David Hasselhoff took a little heat from a few of his celebrity pals as he was the subject of a 90-minute onslaught of verbal abuse during the "Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff."

While sitting in a red lifeguard chair, the former "Baywatch" star received a handful of zingers from an all-star roster that included Pamela Anderson, Whitney Cummings,  Lisa Lampanelli, Jerry Springer, Hulk Hogan, Gilbert Gottfried, and George Hamilton

"How do you make jokes about a joke? How do you embarrass a man who so thoroughly embarrasses himself?" said "Family Guy" creator and the night's emcee, Seth MacFarlane.

For resident roaster Jeffrey Ross, it was easy. The comedian poked fun of Hasselhoff's past drinking habits, alluding to a 2007 video of him eating a cheeseburger off the ground.

"How's that chain of all you can eat off the floor restaurants coming along?" Ross said while wearing nothing but a black Speedo and leather jacket.

Hasselhoff's fellow "Baywatch" costar Anderson also weighed in on the fun. "I remember how nervous I was on my first day of 'Baywatch"... because I can't swim. But David was so sweet, he pulled me aside and said 'Don't worry, I can't act.'"

"The Hoff" wasn't the only target of playful ridicule. Comedienne Whitney Cummings took the opportunity to mock several of her fellow roasters.

"David Hasselhoff, George Hamilton Hulk Hogan. I think if we learned anything from tonight, it's that self tanner causes you to fail in the entertainment business," she said.

Clips of the "Roast of David Hasselhoff" are available on Comedy Central.  The uncensored special will re-air Monday at midnight and Friday and Saturday at 10 PM.
